Together
Helga Wright has joined specialist lender Together, taking on the role of commercial finance director, as the business continues with its growth strategy. Helga joins from the Co-operative Bank, where she was financial director of the retail, commercial and business banking businesses, and brings a wealth of financial services experience, spanning nearly 20 years. Helga, who is ACA qualified, previously held senior roles with Lloyds Bank for nine years.
Ardian Infrastructure
Ardian, the independent private investment company, has announced the appointment of Simo Santavirta to strengthen the industrial expertise within its infrastructure team. Simo joins with over 18 years’ industry experience, of which 13 years were spent at the global power generation group, InterGen, while being based in Europe, Asia, Australia and North America. At InterGen, most recently he held the position of vice president, strategy and portfolio management, based at InterGen’s head office in the US. Prior to that, his other roles at InterGen included vice president and general manager in the Philippines and director of business development for north west Europe. An engineer by background, Simo started his career at Finnish energy company, Fortum Oyj in 1998. His appointment follows several strategic investments in the energy sector by Ardian Infrastructure over the past year, including CLH, Enovos and Geosel.
PKF Littlejohn
VAT specialist, Nick McChesney has joined PKF Littlejohn, the London member firm of PKF International, as a partner. Nick’s appointment brings the number of tax partners and directors at the growing firm to seven. Nick, chair of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales’ VAT and duties sub-committee, is an indirect tax expert with more than 26 years’ experience. Since leaving PwC in 2009, where he was a VAT partner, he has been an independent indirect tax consultant advising national and international clients in the not for profit, real estate, information technology, waste management and travel sectors.
Latham & Watkins
Latham & Watkins has announced that Sophie Lamb will join the firm’s London office as a partner where she will head the growth and development of its arbitration practice and be part of the leadership of the litigation & trial department. Sophie joins from the London office of Debevoise & Plimpton. She began her career as a barrister at One Essex Court. She graduated from the Universities of Manchester and Bourgogne and has a masters from the London School of Economics.
