Velocity Composites, a supplier of composite material and consumable kits to the aerospace industry, has appointed Alan Kershaw as chief financial officer. Alan has over 25 years' experience of shaping and leading the finance functions of companies, both privately and publicly held. Alan joins Velocity Composites after serving as finance director for Ultrasis, an international provider of health care to retail and corporate clients, where he was responsible as director and company secretary for 1 group companies. Prior to this, Alan spent four years as finance and operations director at WH Ireland Group. Previously, Alan was part of the management team that successfully established JP Morgan Invest (UK), a subsidiary within JP Morgan Chase, serving as its vice president – head of technology and operations.
Royal London, the largest mutual life, pensions and investment company, has appointed Andrea Montague to the new role of deputy group finance director. Andrea joins Royal London from Standard Life where she gained over 10 years’ experience in a number of finance, audit and transformation roles in the UK and Ireland. She started her career, which includes time with Scottish & Newcastle, with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Andrea will take up her new role at Royal London in January 2017.
Business and financial adviser Grant Thornton has bolstered its business consulting offering with the appointment of Bob Joyce as advisory consultant. Bob, a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, joins the firm from Jaguar Land Rover. He has over 30 years' experience in the automotive sector and brings with him a wealth of knowledge covering restructuring, commercial performance, global expansion and organisational development. Bob has a proven track record of successfully challenging organisations into new ways of thinking and leading and motivating large teams in highly complex situations.
DG Capital, the China-focused, technology-enabled boutique investment bank, has appointed Andrew Bell as chairman. Launched in 2015 as part of the Chinese-focused cross-border M&A specialists, DealGlobe, DG Capital offers insight into the Chinese market. Andrew joins as chairman of DG Capital and a member of the board of directors of DealGlobe Group, and will take a pivotal role in strengthening and expanding DG Capital’s global advisory practice. Bringing over 25 years of global M&A experience, Andrew was most recently at Jefferies International as head of M&A for Europe and Asia, before which he was global head of M&A at HSBC, after starting his career in Morgan Stanley where he spent 15 years in the M&A group in their London offices.
