Dechert
John Markland and Ross Allardice have joined law firm Dechert as partners in London. John was the founding partner of the London finance practice at Kirkland & Ellis and Ross was a corporate private equity partner at White & Case. John focuses his practice on acquisition finance, debt restructurings and other event-driven finance transactions. Over the course of his approximately 25 year career, he has led teams and advised on the financing aspects of over 100 transactions for some of the most respected private equity firms worldwide. Ross, on the other hand, advises private equity houses and financial sponsor clients on all forms of leveraged M&A, portfolio company representation and restructuring matters.
Mypinpad
Mypinpad, an enabler of multi-factor authentication for unsecured touchscreen devices such as mobile phones and tablets, has appointed payments pioneer, Steve Perry, to the company’s board as a non-executive director.Founder & CEO of Visa Europe Collab (Visa’s Innovation Centre) and with a PhD in econometrics, Steve has enjoyed a 25-year career at Visa Europe which saw the business grow to €1.5 tn, and achieve near 100 per cent market share in debit cards in the UK. With this extensive global experience in payments, Steve served on the payment services regulator as an expert in 2014-16 and sits on the board of a number of leading fintech companies. His acceptance of the position on the Mypinpad board demonstrates the immediate relevance, and long term potential of the business, as it continues to attract endorsement from payment and technology leaders.
Lombard Odier
Lombard Odier has appointed Josephine Verine in the newly created role of COO marketing of the Lombard Odier Group. Josephine will report to Fabio Mancone, executive vice president and chief branding officer of the Lombard Odier Group. She will be responsible for ensuring that marketing operations and project management run smoothly across units, markets and departments. In her role, she will also directly oversee events, publications, editorial content and client experience. She has more than 20 years of experience in the luxury sector. She joins from Chanel where she has been managing director of the haute couture division for the last three years. Prior to that, she occupied a number of senior management positions in marketing, communication and retail at Dior, Celine, Armani and Louis Vuitton.
