ETF SECURITIES
The provider of exchange traded products has appointed James Butterfill as head of research & investment strategy. Based in London, he will report direct to Mark Weeks, the firm’s chief executive officer. Prior to joining ETF Securities, Butterfill worked at HSBC, and most recently at Coutts, as a multi-asset fund manager and global equities strategist.
CONDE NAST INTERNATIONAL
Wolfgang Blau has been named chief digital officer of the global media firm. He’ll have responsibility for the digital growth of Vogue, Vanity Fair, Wired and other household brands. Since April 2013, Blau has been director of digital strategy for The Guardian. Before joining there, he was editor-in-chief of Zeit Online, the online version of German newspaper Die Zeit.
JP MORGAN
Bill Hutchings is joining the investment bank’s UK investment banking team as a senior coverage banker. He joins from Morgan Stanley, where he was a managing director in its corporate broking team. Prior to that, he spent 12 years at UBS.
WFW
The law firm is continuing to grow its corporate practice with the appointment of Andy Savage as a partner in its London office. Savage joins from Norton Rose Fulbright, and he focuses on cross-border M&A, joint ventures and private equity transactions.
PWC LEGAL
The professional services firm has appointed Juan Crosby as a partner in its IT outsourcing team. He joins from CMS Cameron McKenna, where he was a partner and lawyer in the technology and commercial team.
VISTRA
The wealth management firm has appointed Barry Gowdy as director. Gowdy joins from RBS Wealth Management, where he was responsible for the firm’s UK property trust clients.
RPC
The law firm has hired Matthew Griffith as a partner. The former Woldplay corporate general counsel will join RPC’s corporate insurance and financial services team. With over 19 years’ experience, Griffith was previously a partner at both Sidley Austin and Pinset Masons.
VISTRA
The real estate investor has appointed Margaret Young and David Rough as independent non-executive directors, following the retirement of Richard Cotton. Young is also a non-executive director of BlackRock, and most recently served as a non-executive director of BNY Mellon International Asset Management and AA. She spent most of her career in investment banking, working for NatWest Markets, Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse. Rough is senior independent director and a non-executive director of John Laing. He was previously group director of investments at Legal & General for 10 years, before his retirement in 2002.
