The law firm has announced the appointment of Eric Solomons as head of audit for the North West. He has nearly 30 years’ industry experience. Solomons joined the firm in April 2013 from BDO.
Old Mutual Global Investors
The asset management firm has hired Simon Stratford as chief technology officer. He was previously global director of IT at Henderson, and head of the IT value service at Investit.
Ashcourt Rowan Asset Management
Stewart Murray has joined the asset management business as an investment director. He was most recently at Vintage Asset Management, where he was chief investment officer and chairman of its investment committee. Prior to that, Murray managed the Munros European Smaller Companies fund at Munros Capital Management.
Nomura
The investment bank has appointed Mike Ward as head of equity sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in its global markets business. He has over 20 years’ industry experience. Ward was formerly a principal at C8 Investments, where he was responsible for sales and marketing. Before that, he spent eight years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, most recently as head of EMEA equity sales.
DWF
The law firm has made three appointments. Corporate partner Richard Tall – who specialises in the financial services sector – and his team of two solicitors, Joe Cobley and Caroline Urban, join from the London office of TLT.
Misys
Scot Spear has joined the software solutions firm as regional sales director for the Middle East and Africa (MEA). He was previously at P2 Energy Solutions, where he was responsible for its MEA sales team and EMEA channel partners.
Skagen Global
The management company has hired Knut Gezelius as a portfolio manager. He was most recently at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he was a buy-side analyst. Prior to that, he was senior lead analyst at Entergy Corporation and a senior consultant at Applied Value Group.
