Gumtree
Gumtree, the UK’s largest classifieds website, has recruited Matt Button to the newly created role of head of customer relationship management. Matt will work with the Gumtree marketing team and its agencies to devise and deliver a CRM strategy that acquires and retains customers across all its categories. The strategy will be focused on engaging customers across all touch points in order to boost the vibrancy of the website. In the past, Matt has run large scale CRM programmes for brands such as Lexus, KLM, HMV, Waterstones and Marks & Spencer. He was behind the launch of the Flying Dutchman frequent flyer programme for KLM in the UK and pioneered the use of digital media and data at Lexus.
Securities Trust of Scotland
Rachel Beagles has been appointed chairman of Securities Trust of Scotland having served on the company’s board for six years. Rachel has over 25 years of experience working in investment markets, including more than 10 years as a non-executive director of investment companies. She is currently a board member of the Association of Investment Companies, and a director of BlackRock Emerging Europe and New India Investment Trust. Prior to roles within investment companies, she was co-head of the Pan European Banks Equity Research and sales teams at Deutsche Bank Securities. Rachel replaces Neil Donaldson who will be retiring, having served as a director of the company since its inception in 2005.
Woodford Patient Capital Trust
Woodford Patient Capital Trust has appointed Carolan Dobson and Alan Hodson as non-executive directors. Carolan has a background in fund management and is an experienced non-executive director in public and private sector organisations, including a diverse portfolio of investment trust roles. She spent her executive career at Murray Johnstone, where she managed Murray Income and was a main board director, and later joined Abbey National Asset Management, as head of UK. Meanwhile, Alan is the senior independent director of JPMorgan Elect and non-executive director HarbourVest Global Private Equity. He retired from UBS in 2005 and has since held positions on a variety of financial and charity boards.
Rowan Dartington
Rowan Dartington has added two members to its team with new investment manager Gregg McAlister from RBC Wealth Management and equity research analyst Andrew Wace, joining from Axa Investment Managers where he covered the retail, tobacco, aerospace & defence and engineering sectors. In Manchester, Johnny Arthur is joining the wealth manager from Hanson Asset Management where he was head of investment management for two years, while in Liverpool, David McNiven is joining from Quilter Cheviot after four years as investment director.
