The professional services firm has announced the appointment of James Wakelin to its real estate advisory team. Wakelin has 11 years’ experience in real estate investment and financing. He was most recently at Pacific Real Estate Capital Partners, where he was a director. Prior to that, he was a director at UBS Investment Bank, where he helped establish its real estate principal finance team in Europe.

Charlie Wijsman has joined the transformation specialists as client director, and head of its telecoms, media and technology practice. He most recently worked at Deloitte, where he was chief operating officer of its operations excellence practice.
State Street
The financial services company has recruited Dr Roger Stein as chief analytics officer for State Street Global Exchange. Stein has over 20 years’ experience in finance and analytics. He previously held senior positions at Moody’s, including president of Moody’s Research Labs.
Takeover Panel
Law firm Allen & Overy has announced that corporate partner Seth Jones will be seconded to the Takeover Panel for two years. Jones specialises in corporate transactions, including public and private mergers & acquisitions, and joint ventures. He previously worked in Allen & Overy’s Dubai office.
Workshare
Alex Wood has joined the software company as vice president of sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He has over 15 years’ sales experience, and most recently worked as director of sales programmes, governance, risk and compliance for Thomson Reuters.
BNP Paribas Securities Services
The securities services firm has appointed Peter Baker as managing director for Australia and New Zealand. Baker joined the company 18 months ago as head of client strategy and communication. He was most recently managing director for Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia at State Street Investor Services.
Yorkshire Building Society
Mark Pain has joined the building society as a non-executive director. He has over 15 years’ experience in director-level roles, and previously spent 16 years with the Abbey National Group. He is currently a non-executive director at Aviva UK.
