The merchant banking and operational risk management firm has announced the appointment of Martin Devenish as group head of strategy. He previously spent 20 years at Goldman Sachs, where he was a partner and advisory director.
KPMG
The professional services firm has hired Nick Roome as a partner to lead its legal services practice in Manchester. He was formerly a corporate partner at DLA Piper.
JLT Employee Benefits
The employee benefits provider has made two appointments. James Staveley-Wadham joins as a principal in its insured pensions solutions team. He was most recently at Towers Watson, where he was a senior consultant. James Auty has been named managing director of its annuity bureau. He has worked in the pensions industry for 25 years.
Legatum Institute
Graeme Leach has been appointed director of economics and prosperity studies at the Legatum Institute. He joins after 15 years as chief economist and director of policy at the Institute of Directors.
Charlemagne Capital
The asset management group has recruited Dominic Bokor-Ingram as a co-portfolio adviser in its frontier emerging markets division. He has 22 years’ experience in emerging markets. Bokor-Ingram previously held roles at Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Renaissance Capital.
City Financial Investment Company
The fund management firm has hired Heather Taylor as director of corporate development. She was most recently at BMO Capital Markets, where she was a sector specialist in its institutional equity sales team.

Josip Kardun has joined the property company as chief operating officer and deputy chief executive. He joins from ECE, where he was chief investment officer.
Linklaters
The law firm has announced the appointment of Nikolaos Peristerakis as a counsel in its anti-trust practice, based in Brussels. He previously worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
