AEW
AEW has appointed Hans Vrensen as European head of research and strategy. Hans, who will be based in London and oversee teams in London and Paris, will report to Rob Wilkinson, CEO of AEW Europe and will work closely with AEW’s global platform. Hans’ responsibilities at AEW will include advising the investment and asset management teams on macroeconomic and property market dynamics, contributing to the formation of investment strategies and performing primary and secondary property market analysis. Before joining AEW, Hans acted as an external consultant to CREFC Europe for two years, and was global head of research at DTZ from 2009 to 2015. He has also worked for Barclays Capital as head of European securitisation research and at Moody’s Investor Services as a senior credit officer.
Lombard Odier Private Bank
Lombard Odier Private Bank has appointed Michael Le Garignon as head of independent asset managers UK, as the firm continues its investment programme to build its presence in the UK. Michael will be responsible for driving the launch of Lombard Odier’s independent asset management offering in the UK next year. Michael has over 30 years of experience in financial services, and joins from Societe Generale Securities Services where he was head of business development, sales and relationship management, UK & Ireland. Michael has also held business development roles at JP Morgan and BNP Paribas Securities Services during his career.
Touchstone
Helen Kings has been appointed managing director of Touchstone, a UK wide property management firm, specialising in the private rented sector. Helen joins Touchstone in January, when she will take over from John Midgley. John will remain with the business, providing valuable operational support, while stepping back from his current role. Helen’s career began with the prestigious graduate management scheme at Aldi, and subsequently included operational roles at major retailers Somerfield and the Co-Operative. In 2009 she moved to Compass Group, a market leader in contract catering and FM support services, where most recently she worked as sales director – strategic partnerships.
Broadstone
Broadstone, the independent pensions and investment expert, has appointed Grant Stobart as chief executive officer and Nick Jones as chief financial officer. Grant joins from Alexander Forbes, where he was International CEO and responsible for its mergers and acquisitions. He has many years’ experience in the pensions and employee benefits industry, having held a number of senior roles across the Alexander Forbes group in the UK, Europe and Africa. Nick Jones also joins Broadstone as CFO. Nick comes from Attenda Group following a successful sale of the business.
