Northern Trust
The asset management business has made two appointments. John Elder (right) joins as a senior investment adviser for multi-manager solutions. He has previously worked at Mellon Family Office Services and Ernst & Young. Jonathan Lidster joins as a senior wealth strategist. He was formerly chief operating officer at Global Partnership Family Offices.
Barclays Business
The bank has announced the appointment of Steve Childs as head of international trade for business banking. He joined in 1988, and was most recently national head of real estate.
Buck Consultants
The employee benefits consultant has made two senior appointments. Fraser Smart, who joined in 2006, has been promoted to head of Buck Consultants worldwide. Steven White has been appointed managing director. He has previously held roles in the government Actuary’s Department.
HSNO
The forensic accounting firm has hired Gavin Pearson as a partner in its London office. He was most recently at RSM Tenon, where he led its forensic accounting team. Pearson is vice-chairman of the forensic special interest group at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Stonehage Group
The multi-family office to international ultra high-net worth families has appointed Mark Lewis as an executive director. He joins from Appleby, where he was responsible for business planning and strategy.
Gide
Patrick Ouart has joined the law firm as a partner in its international dispute resolution team. Ouart has served as a magistrate for 15 years, and was formerly a member of the executive committees at Suez and LVMH.
Simmons & Simmons
The law firm has announced the appointment of Boris Schilmar as a partner in its Munich office. He was most recently at Raupach & Wollert-Elmendorff (Deloitte Legal), where he was a partner and head of its Munich office.
