The law firm has appointed Stephen Miles as chief executive of its commercial services division. He joins from Pinsent Masons, where he was head of financial institutions and human capital, and a member of its leadership team. Miles is a transactional banking lawyer, and has acted for the national acquisition and leveraged finance teams of RBS, Barclays, and HSBC.
Ashcourt Rowan Financial Planning
John Spink has been appointed area director in the financial planning arm of the wealth management group. He has over 20 years’ experience in the financial planning industry, and joins from RBS Group, where he was most recently regional director, London.
BLP
The law firm has announced that Oliver Glynn-Jones has been appointed head of its banking litigation practice, effective 1 May. Glynn-Jones is currently a partner in BLP’s commercial dispute resolution group.
TradeRiver Finance
John Harley has been appointed chairman of the online trade finance business. He retired from Ernst & Young in February 2011, where he was a partner, having run its global client strategy and global private equity groups. Harley is also currently senior adviser to Alvarez & Marsal, a member of the panel of the Competition Commission, and deputy chairman of the University of Brighton.
Goodacre UK
Emma Healy has been appointed director of training and event management at the business and technology consultancy. She will be responsible for all events organised on behalf of Goodacre’s clients, including the Securities Industry Conference and the City of London Wealth Management Awards.
Stowe Family Law
Charles Hartwell is joining the Holborn-based family law firm. He previously worked at Yorkshire County Cricket Club, where he was its finance director. Hartwell is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, and has also held roles at Estee Lauder and B&Q.
