ISS UK & Ireland
Barbara Plucnar Jensen is the new chief financial officer for ISS UK & Ireland. She has moved to the UK operation from her previous role at ISS Group in Denmark. Barbara worked with ISS Group in various roles since 2009, her most recent being senior vice president, head of group treasury and risk management. Prior to this she held a range of positions in the finance sector. With a Masters in Economics, she also built a deep understanding of the ISS business and significantly strengthened the financial profile of ISS group treasury activities. While based with ISS Group, Barbara was also a part of the finance group management team and board member of a number of ISS Group companies. Her accomplishments include the ISS listing on Nasdaq in 2014 and strategic roll out of the ISS group strategy.
Toople
Toople, a provider of bespoke telecom services to UK SMEs, has appointed Mark Evans as chief operating officer. Mark has more than 14 years' industry experience, having previously held senior positions at 02. He joined Toople shortly after the IPO and has been leading the company's digital omnichannel sales and contact centre strategy since launch. Mark will now lead the Toople customer engagement functions both from a people, software and channel marketing perspective, ensuring our back office process is best in class and focusing on delivering a great customer experience to small businesses that is aligned to their needs.
Alcentra
Alternative fixed income specialist Alcentra, an investment boutique part of BNY Mellon Investment Management, has made two appointments within the institutional business development team based in London. Joining from PIMCO, Nicholas Pont has been appointed as managing director, senior institutional marketer, responsible for selling Alcentra’s entire suite of corporate credit strategies, including senior loans, high yield, direct lending, special situations and structured credit, in the UK. Sam Morse has also joined the credit specialist as executive director, institutional marketer for the UK. Working closely with Nicholas, Sam will help sell the Alcentra’s strategies to institutional investors, such as public and corporate pension funds.
Charles Taylor
Charles Taylor has appointed Paul Hewitt as a non-executive director of the company. Paul will join the audit, remuneration and nominations committees with effect from the same date. Paul Hewitt is an experienced chief financial officer, chairman and non-executive director. He has chaired audit committees for Tokio Marine, Kiln, NEST Corporation, Tesco Bank, Collins Stewart Hawkpoint, Co-operative Banking Group and GMT Global Aviation. He is currently a non-executive director of Playtech and chairman of Roberts Jackson, Validus-IVC and Four Times Enterprises.
