Newcore Capital Management
Newcore Capital Management, the alternative real estate investment manager, has made two appointments to support its growth strategy. Neil Sarkhel has joined as an associate and Iain Cobban has joined as an assistant investment manager. Neil will be responsible for underwriting potential acquisitions and disposals, while leading on a number of business development assignments. He has previously worked in a variety oftransactional and analytical roles for Brockton Capital and Goldman Sachs. Iain will be responsible for sourcing and underwriting investment opportunities, as well as the portfolio management of certain value-add initiatives. He previously worked at Grainger as a transactions analyst.
River and Mercantile Asset Management
River and Mercantile Asset Management has appointed Gary Dowsett as a global analyst to support the growth of the global equity solutions business. In his role Gary will be working closely with Will Lough, director of research and supporting Hugh Sergeant on his global portfolios. Gary worked previously with Hugh at Phillips & Drew (UBS Global Asset Management) from 1987 through to 2001, as a fund manager and analyst. Following his time with Phillips & Drew, Gary spent four years at Willis Towers Watson prior to senior roles at Schroders and Taube Hodson Stonex Partners LLP.
Aldermore
Aldermore, the specialist lender and savings bank, has appointed Lesley Rolfe as the head of asset finance operations. Lesley will manage the delivery and oversight of all asset finance operations from the origination of new business through to the final settlement of accounts. She will also support the Bank’s activities in operational and business assurance risk management. Lesley joins Aldermore with over 16 years of asset finance experience, having held a number of senior positions at Barclays, including head of asset finance and invoice finance operations, as well as roles in sales support and customer services. Her financial services career extends beyond Barclays, having spent time at AA Insurance Services, Lloyds Banking Group, Nationwide Building Society and Sun Life.
Willis Towers Watson
Willis Towers Watson has appointed two investment industry experts, Ashwin Belur and Dhiran Dookhi, to its insurance investment solutions group. Ashwin has almost 30 years of industry experience during which time he has held a variety of senior investment and insurance-related positions at Goldman Sachs, ABN AMRO, Brit Insurance and most recently BlackRock. Dhiran is a fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and joins from Prudential, where he was a risk actuary working on enterprise risk management. Prior to this he gained broad insurance and investment experience at The Phoenix Group, Sun Life Financial of Canada and the Pension Protection Fund.
