The professional services firm has appointed Andrew Penny as senior advisor to its real estate corporate finance team. Penny has a wide range of experience, and was formerly global co-head of real estate investment banking at JP Morgan.
National Counties Building Society
Rodger Hughes has been appointed chairman of the Epsom-based building society. He has been a member of the mutual since 1996, and has spent his whole executive career at PwC, where he was on the supervisory and management Boards for 15 years, and latterly a managing partner. Hughes has also served on the boards of Friends Provident and Companies House. He is senior independent director of Chime Communications and also on the board of law firm Simmons & Simmons.
Armadale Capital
The Aim-quoted investment company has appointed Dr Andrew Tunks to its board as non-executive director. Tunks is a qualified geologist with over 25 years’ experience in exploration and mining. He was chief executive and director of A-Cap Resources from 2006-2012 and, prior to that, chief geologist of IAMGOLD Corporation.
Johnstons of Elgin
The cashmere manufacturer has announced the appointment of two non-executive directors: luxury retail leader Marty Wikstrom and fourth-generation owner Jenny Houldsworth. Wikstrom bring over 30 years’ experience in executive roles in both the US and Europe, and was Harrods’ first female managing director. She has also been president of Nordstrom, and is currently chairman of Harry’s of London, as well as being a director of Fortnum & Mason.

The legal chambers has appointed Collingwood Thompson QC as head of chambers. Thompson was called to the bar in 1975 and, since taking Silk in 1998, has specialised in both civil and criminal fraud.
Tele2
Eamonn O’Hare was today appointed non-executive director on the board of Tele2 – the European telecom operator. O’Hare was previously chief financial officer of Virgin Media from 2009 up until its sale to Liberty Global in 2013. He recently co-founded Zegona, an investment company backed by Standard Life, Neil Woodford and Fidelity.
