Saffery Champness
Accountancy firm Saffery Champness has recruited Dermot Callinan as a partner in its Harrogate office. He joins from KPMG, where he recently served as head of the UK private client advisory team. Dermot is a specialist in domestic and international personal taxation and his clients include wealthy individuals (both UK and non-UK domiciled), global families, family offices, partnerships, entrepreneurs, trustees and family companies. While based at Saffery Champness’ Harrogate office, Dermot will be servicing client needs across the UK. He will become a partner with effect from 1 October 2017. Dermot has advised on personal taxation for over 30 years and at KPMG was responsible for a team of more than 170 tax professionals, including 18 partners and directors. Prior to joining KPMG in 1991, Dermot worked with EY and Deloitte Haskins & Sells.
BNY Mellon Investment Management
BNY Mellon Investment Management, has appointed Olivier Cassin as head of institutional distribution Europe. Based in London, he will report to Matt Oomen, head of international distribution. Olivier will lead and manage BNY Mellon Investment Management’s European institutional sales team and is responsible for developing relationships and business from institutional clients. He will lead the institutional team based in London and across Europe.
JLL
JLL’s project management team has appointed Toby White as director of its monitoring service line, based in Warwick Street, London. Toby joins from CBRE’s building consultancy team where he built their funder monitoring service, and played a wider role in the management of the cost consultancy team. During his six years at CBRE, he provided broad ranging development advice and project monitoring as well as technical due diligence advice for funders, banks, and stakeholders in property development, construction and distressed asset recovery. At JLL, Toby will build on the firm’s significant existing monitoring experience, and further develop the service line which offers monitoring and technical due diligence services to funders, investors, and stakeholders in development.
Lombard Odier Private Bank
Lombard Odier Private Bank has strengthened its London office with six appointments. Karl Von Bezing has joined Lombard Odier as chief operating officer and will work closely with the firm's chief executive officer, Duncan MacIntyre, to support Lombard Odier’s ambitions to grow its presence in the UK. Karl joins from Ernst & Young, where he worked within the wealth and asset management practice for five years. Karen Boecker joins as a senior private banker for the Middle East, Duygu Gozeler Porchet joins as a private banker for the Turkish market and Aurelie Jaclot joins as private banker for the French market. Geraldine Appert joins Lombard Odier as a wealth planner while Louise Dobbyn joins as legal counsel.
