Ian Gilmartin has been appointed head of retail and wholesale for Barclays’s corporate bank. He has over 20 years’ experience and has spent the past five years as part of the leadership in Barclays’ retail and wholesale team. Gilmartin has also held roles at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and Allied Irish Banks.
DELOITTE
The business advisory firm has announced the appointment of Marian Elliott as head of its trustee advisory service in London. She is a scheme actuary with over 13 years’ experience, advising both corporate and trustee clients in managing their pension scheme risks.
KPMG
Karen Witton has been appointed chair of the professional services firm in the South. She has worked at KPMG for the past 10 years, most recently as indirect tax partner. Witton succeeds Phil Cotton, who has worked at the firm for 36 years.
HSBC
Rafael Moral Santiago has been appointed head of securities services, Europe in the bank’s global banking and markets business. He joins from Deutsche Bank, where he held a number of roles across its transaction banking unit and strategy function. Santiago has also worked at McKinsey.
FIT REMUNERATION CONSULTANTS
Katharine Turner has been appointed partner at the executive pay consultancy. She spent the past 14 years at Towers Watson, where she was most recently managing director of its executive compensation business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
HOLMAN FENWICK WILLAN
The law firm has announced the appointment of Christopher Cardona as a partner in its London office. He joins from Chadbourne & Parke. Cardona specialises in dispute resolution in the insurance and reinsurance sector, and international financial institutions and professional indemnity work. He speaks both Spanish and English.
INSIGHT INVESTMENT
The European investment manager has announced the appointment of Lloyd Thomas as a portfolio manager within its multi-asset strategy group, the team behind the Insight Broad Opportunities fund. He joins from Mediolanum Asset Management, where he worked for six years, and will report to Matthew Merritt, head of multi-asset strategy.
