HSBC
HSBC’s Sanjeev Chopra is to join Psigma Investment Management as investment director in January 2017 reporting to John Howard-Smith, CEO. A seasoned investment professional, Sanjeev has worked at HSBC for nearly two decades, his most recent role being client director at HSBC Global Asset Management.
IHS Markit
IHS Markit has appointed Andrew Aziz as the global head of Markit Analytics, a provider of capital markets analytics and risk solutions delivered via multiple deployment models including software, managed services and utilities. Drawing on his two decades of experience in the financial technology industry, most recently at IBM, Andrew will have responsibility for leading the business, product and R&D functions at Markit Analytics. At IBM, Andrew led strategy, quantitative analytics and research for the risk analytics division. He also held several senior executive management functions at Algorithmics Inc. for 17 years, prior to its acquisition. He regularly speaks at risk management and financial engineering conferences worldwide including RISK, GAIM, RiskMinds, Life & Pensions and GARP.
Duff & Phelps
Phil Dakin is joining the Duff & Phelps’ restructuring advisory practice as a managing director in its London office. Phil brings more than 15 years’ experience in the corporate restructuring and insolvency sector, having advised companies on procedures including independent business reviews, operational and financial restructuring, and formal insolvency appointments. Phil joins Duff & Phelps from Greybull Capital, where he was an integral part of the team which completed the acquisition of Tata Steel’s Scunthorpe Steelworks, resulting in the rescue of 4,000 jobs. He also worked on Greybull’s deal to buy 140 convenience stores from Morrisons, supporting a bid led by former secret Millionaire Mike Greene and establishing the MyLocal chain of stores. Prior to his role at Greybull Capital, Phil worked as a director at Begbies Traynor and as a senior manager at KPMG.
PwC
Sinead Leahy, former head of UK pension solutions at the Royal Bank of Scotland, has joined as a partner to PwC’s pension consulting business. She will lead the firm's focus on strategy and implementation advice to trustees of large defined benefit schemes as part of PwC’s pension investment consulting services. Sinead brings a wealth of experience in stakeholder management having worked closely with trustees, corporate sponsors, pension consultants and asset managers. She has an in-depth and practical understanding of the UK’s defined benefit pension fund market.
