World Trade Board
Vince Cable, the former business secretary, has joined the World Trade Board as a strategic adviser. He will advise on the board’s collaborative initiatives to widen debate and foster a more inclusive future around sustainable international trade, as well as supporting the World Trade Symposium in 2017. Cable was the Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for Twickenham from 1997 to 2015 and secretary of state for business in the coalition government from 2010 to 2015. Along with campaigning on current issues, he remains at the centre of political and economic discourse.
Addleshaw Goddard
Addleshaw Goddard has appointed Axel Koelsch as the firm's chief operating officer. Axel will join AG in February 2017, as a member of the firm's five-strong executive team, which is responsible for implementing strategy and running the operations of the business. He will report to managing partner, John Joyce. Axel has significant experience working across continental Europe and leaves Freshfields where he has been COO of the Germany and Austria region since 2010. Prior to joining Freshfields, Axel was responsible for Lovells' operations across continental Europe, including the planning and execution of the merger which created Hogan Lovells and, before that, spent several years at Linklaters (Germany) as COO and also global head of strategy. As a McKinsey consultant from 1999-2002, Axel advised a range of international corporates and professional services businesses. Axel is a member of Freshfields' global operations committee, and has led a number of global transformation projects. He is also responsible for finance, HR, IT, business development and operations across Freshfields' seven offices in Germany and Austria and has enjoyed particular success identifying and launching new ways of delivering value to clients, including the use of digital technology.
Sandaire
Sandaire, one of the first multi-family offices in the UK founded by Alex Scott in 1996, has appointed industry veteran Kevin Corrigan as chief investment officer. Kevin brings 29 years of experience to the business, an extensive knowledge of financial markets and investment strategies, and exposure to institutional, wholesale and private clients. He joins Sandaire from Lombard Odier where he spent a total of six years, first as head of credit and then as head of fundamental fixed Income. Kevin was promoted specifically to lead the expansion of Lombard Odier’s Fixed Income franchise. He was responsible for investment professionals located in London, Geneva and Amsterdam; managing over £7.5bn across a variety of investment strategies. Prior to Lombard Odier Kevin worked with various blue-chip companies including Goldman Sachs as an executive director; Fischer Francis Trees and Watts as a partner; and JP Morgan at the beginning of his career.
