Steve Dukes has been appointed by consumer finance company Dollar UK as its new chief product development officer, reporting directly to chief executive Stuart Howard. Steve joins from Wonga where he was vice president of customer proposition.
GFT UK
GFT, a provider of business, design and technology consulting to the investment banking community, has announced the appointment of Paul Harrington as a principal consultant within the legal, compliance & regulatory practice team. Before joining GFT, Paul was head of operations and controls at NetOTC and has also held the role of head of EMEA global network management at Morgan Stanley, where he was an executive director.
SOVEREIGN CAPITAL
Simon Jobson has joined Sovereign Capital, the UK private equity “buy & build” specialist, as an investment director. Before joining Sovereign, Simon spent nine years with Growth Capital Partners. Prior to this, Simon was at Deloitte Corporate Finance in their advisory practice, with a focus on business services, consumer retail and healthcare, having originally qualified as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen.
STANDARD CHARTERED
Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Didier von Daeniken to the newly created role of new global head, private banking & wealth management. Didier will join the bank in March 2016, and will be based in Singapore. Didier joins StanChart from Barclays, where he led the private banking business for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, and was responsible for the development and implementation of Barclays’ wealth and investment management growth strategy in these regions, from 2007. Prior to this, he spent his career at Credit Suisse and held senior positions in Zurich, Geneva, Dubai, Istanbul and Singapore.
PZENA INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT
Pzena Investment Management has launched its London office with a management team of Phil Hoffman as head of UK, Middle East & Africa and Ulrik Ahrendt-Jensen as head of Europe. Prior to joining, Phil worked at Russell Investments in London in a variety of positions, including head of research for UK, Japan and global equities. Before Pzena Investment Management, Ulrik was with the Nordea Group in a range of roles, including heading marketing and communication for Nordea’s funds business.
