Business Growth Fund
Business Growth Fund has expanded its team with the appointment of Paul Stevens, who joins from Octopus Investments. Based in the London office, Paul will focus on identifying investment opportunities in AIM listed companies as part of the BGF Quoted offering, which is led by Gavin Petken and Tom Jenkins and supported by BGF’s nationwide investment team. Paul has over 10 years’ experience investing in listed companies, having worked in the Quoted Smaller Companies Equities team at Octopus Investments, where he contributed to the outperformance of funds-under-management during that time.
Sophos
Tech firm Sophos has appointed Tony Young as its chief information officer. In this newly created role on the senior management team, Tony will be responsible for the strategy, security and management of the global IT organisation at Sophos. Young joins the company from GoPro, where he served as chief information officer. Prior to GoPro, he was senior vice president for cloud and subscription sales at Informatica. During his career at Informatica, he also served as chief information officer and as the executive director of North Asia, based in China. Prior to this, Tony worked at Converge as the director of exchange applications and Mindcrossing as vice president of product development.
Brown Advisory
Investment firm Brown Advisory announces the appointment of Nick Andjel as private client portfolio manager. Following on from the recent appointments of Nicholas Taylor and James Tussaud, Nick joins the firm with immediate effect. Nick will be responsible for managing bespoke discretionary investment portfolios for UK and international private clients. Nick joins from GAM where he was portfolio director.
Rathbones
Rathbones, providers of investment management services for individuals, charities and professional advisers, has appointed Sanjiv Tumkur as head of equity research, based in London. He reports to Elizabeth Savage, head of research, and will be responsible for developing and promoting Rathbones’ equity investment philosophy and process. Sanjiv joins Rathbones from Investec Wealth & Investment, where he was a senior equity analyst, primarily responsible for sector coverage in large caps across the UK, Europe and the US. He brings with him 20 years of experience in research and fund management, having previously worked for Morgan Grenfell (later Deutsche Asset Management) and Alliance Bernstein.
