Standard Chartered
Anju Patwardhan has joined the bank in the newly-appointed role of chief innovation officer. Patwardhan will become a member of the Standard Chartered’s technology and operations management group, and will oversee SC Studios, the bank’s innovation outpost in San Francisco. The experienced banker brings more than two decades of international financial services experience. She’ll report directly to incoming chief information officer Michael Gorriz.
BLP
The law firm has appointed Katherine Mulhern and Bobby Schrader as partners in its corporate finance practice group, strengthening its US securities offering. Before joining BLP, Mulhern founded the EMEA US securities practice at Hogan Lovells. Prior to that, she was at Proskauer Rose, co-founding its European capital markets practice. Schrader joins from Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Before that, he was at Linklaters.
PwC
The professional services firm has appointed Michael Jones as a partner in its forensics technology services practice. Jones joins from Deloitte, and has over 20 years’ experience in professional services.
Watson Farley & Williams
Rob McBride and Sian Withey have joined the firm in London. Both were previously with US firm Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobsen, where they were part of the firm’s capital markets and finance practice. At Watson Farley & Williams, the pair will establish a debt securities and structured finance practice.
Santander
The bank’s corporate & commercial division has appointed Francisca Michielsen as the new international director for London and the south. Michielsen has an international banking background. She will work with the relationship director teams.
BNP Paribas
The bank’s corporate and institutional banking division has appointed Jose Placido as head of financial institutions coverage. Prior to joining BNP Paribas security services in 2014, Placido was chief executive officer of RBC investor services and RBC Dexia investor services. In his new extended role, he will report to Patrick Colle, chief executive of BNP Paribas securities services.
