Savills
The real estate adviser has appointed Robert Mangan as director in its hotels team. He joins from Michels & Taylor, where he spent five years as a director. Mangan has also held positions at Avestus Capital Partners, Merrill Lynch and BOI.
Momentum Global Investment Management
Alex Garton has been appointed head of UK institutional sales at the investment management firm. He joins from Baring Asset Management, where he was director, client service and relationship development. Garton has nearly 20 years’ experience in financial services, and has also held roles at Evolution Securities and at Hoare Govett.
Standard Chartered
The bank has announced several appointments to its financial crime compliance and legal functions. Steve Munro joins as head of sanctions compliance from GE Capital, where he was global anti money laundering leader. Munro has also held senior roles at Societe Generale. Carmel Speers joins as head of financial crime compliance for the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan from JP Morgan Chase. David Clark joins as head of financial crime compliance surveillance analysis and academy from GE Capital, where he was head of international financial crime compliance. Clark has also held roles at Barclays, ABN Amro, and HMRC.
Churchill Retirement Living
The retirement housebuilder has appointed Martin Young as group operations director. He moves from within Churchill, where he has been regional managing director for the south west for the past two years.
Holman Fenwick Willan
The law firm has announced the appointment of Haydn Dare. He joins from Herbert Smith Freehills, and specialises in structuring foreign investment in energy and mineral resources, infrastructure and project finance, and mergers and acquisition transactions.
Berenberg
Dr Mickey Levy has been appointed chief US and Asia economist at the private bank. He was most recently chief economist at Blenheim Capital Management, and has also held positions at Bank of America, CRT Government Securities and NationsBank. Levy advises several US Federal Reserve banks and is a member of the Shadow Open Market Committee.
