Independent Oil and Gas
Independent Oil and Gas has appointed David Peattie as chairman. David has 35 years’ industry experience and was most recently the CEO of Fairfield Energy, an oil & gas company owned by a syndicate of North American and European private equity investors, led by Riverstone and Warburg Pincus. David began his career at BP in 1979 as a petroleum engineer and during his 33-year tenure at the company held a number of technical, commercial and senior management positions including Head of BP Russia responsible for BP’s interests in TNK-BP as well as its businesses in the Russian Arctic and Sakhalin. In addition, he was BP’s lead director on the board of TNK-BP.
Henley Investment Management
Private equity real estate investor Henley Investment Management has appointed Karen Travis and Will Dickens as directors in the firm’s investor relations and capital raising team. Karen and Will are tasked with updating investors by liaising with them throughout the entire lifecycle of an investment, including the process of exiting assets under management. Karen has 19 years of real estate experience in investment banking and most recently held the position vice president of marketing and business development at LNR Partners Europe, which is owned by Starwood Property Trust. Will has 17 years of experience in the central London and south east UK real estate markets. He previously worked in a director capacity for Squarestone Family Office Partners.
Hastings Insurance Services
Hastings Insurance Services has appointed Sue Amies-King and Valerie Dias to its board of directors. Sue has held a number of senior roles within the utilities and financial services sectors working for large FTSE 100 companies including United Utilities and Aviva. She is currently CEO of Water Plus, the biggest B2B water retailer in the UK, and previously spent 10 years in the insurance sector where she specialised in customer experience and operational efficiency. Valerie has extensive risk, finance and product experience gained in the payments industry having held a number of senior executive roles over her long career with Visa Europe.
Bank for International Settlements
The Bank for International Settlements has appointed Fernando Restoy as chair of the Financial Stability Institute. Fernando is currently the deputy governor of the Bank of Spain, a position he has held since 2012. Prior to this, he held other senior positions at the Bank of Spain, which he joined in 1991. He was commissioner of the Spanish Securities and Markets Commission (CNMV) in 2007‒08 and the CNMV’s vice-chair from 2008 to 2012. He has been a member of the supervisory board of the ECB’s single supervisory mechanism for the past two years. In his new role, he will further develop the strategic direction of the FSI and will assume responsibility for ensuring the Institute meets evolving demands.
