Institute of Directors
The Institute of Directors has announced the appointment of James Sproule as chief economist and head of policy. Sproule was most recently at Accenture, where for the past seven years he led the firm’s UK and global capital markets research, and its thought leadership programme. Prior to that, Sproule was director of research at Augusta Finance, and chief economist at the Association of British Insurers.
PwC
The professional services firm has recruited Peter Whelan as head of its equity capital markets advisory service. Whelan has over 18 years’ experience working on large and complex transactions. He was previously at Rothschild, where he was a managing director and head of emerging markets equity advisory.
Pictet Asset Management
The asset management firm has made two hires to its UK institutional business development team. Roger Price-Haworth joins as head of institutional business development for the UK and Ireland from BNP Paribas Investment Partners, where he was head of UK institutional business. Anahita Firouzbakht joins as consultant relations manager from Partners Group.
CBRE
The property company has announced the hire of Keith Lindsay as chief operating officer of its hotels business for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He was most recently at Beacon Hospitality Partners, where he was a principal. Prior to that, Lindsay was a managing director at AIG Global Real Estate Investments in New York.
Sullivan & Worcester
The law firm has appointed Simon Cook as a partner in its London office. Cook will specialise in structured trade and commodities finance, and joins from Dentons.
Investec Wealth & Investment
The wealth management business has expanded its Glasgow team. David Kerr and Lisa Brown both join as investment directors from Barclays.
Boxwood
The management consultancy has recruited Paul Martin as a managing director. Martin spent the last nine years at Planet Retail, where he was most recently managing director.
