Investec
The bank’s corporate and institutional banking division has announced the appointment of Florian von Hartig as head of debt capital markets. He joins after nine years at Standard Bank, where he was global head of debt primary markets.
JLL UK
The real estate-focused professional services and investment management firm has appointed two new sustainability directors. Alfonso Ponce-Alvarez joins JLL’s UK occupier consulting team from Deloitte France, where he was head of sustainability. Darren Berman joins JLL’s upstream sustainability team from CBRE, where he headed up its energy and sustainability consulting practice.
Legal & General Property
Legal & General Investment Management’s property division has appointed Matthew Bird as senior transactions manager in its transactions team. He joins from Frogmore, where he was responsible for originating and executing investment acquisitions and joint ventures.
Squire Patton Boggs
The law firm has appointed John Hayward as partner in its financial services practice group in its London office. He joins from Simmons & Simmons, where he was a corporate banking partner. Hayward has particular expertise in acquisition and leveraged finance.
Redefine International
Michelle Daniels has been appointed group head of marketing at the income-focused UK real estate investment trust. She has over 17 years’ marketing experience in the retail property industry, and joins from Toolbox Marketing, where she was most recently UK managing director.
BLM
The risk and insurance law business has appointed David Hertzell as a consultant. He is the former law commisioner for commercial and common law, and is also currently president of the British Insurance Law Association.
Terra Firma
Christen Thomson has been appointed head of communications at the private equity firm. He was formerly deputy chief executive, and earlier director of communications, at the Alternative Investment Management Association, and also spent 12 years as a journalist at the BBC.
