City gets new spin on the London Wall
GAME of Thrones fans got a treat yesterday when the City’s Bishop’s Square became the unlikely site for a 3D painted version of The Wall from the TV show.
The large-scale pavement painting gave passers by the impression they were standing on the top of the fictional parapet. It was commissioned (predictably) by HBO to celebrate the release of season three of the hit show on DVD.
Budding wildlings only had yesterday to get down there to recreate their favourite scenes, as The Wall was whipped away today.
The piece was created by artists 3D Joe & Max – and it’s not the first time they’ve created a fake fissure in the City. In 2011 the duo created the world’s largest 3D painting in Canary Wharf on behalf of Reebok.
“We knew we had to do something really special to match the sheer scale of this phenomenal TV show that has swept the globe,” gushed artist Joe Hill, founder of 3D Joe and Max.
