To Canary Wharf, where former rugby legend Lawrence Dallaglio joined other relics from the world of rugger came to be wined and dined in aid of the youth charity in Dallaglio's name.
Folks from Standard Chartered, Balfour Betty and WPP joined ex rugger stars Dallaglio, Will Greenwood and Austin Healey for what the hosts billed as "The Foundation's annual breakfast, lunch and dinner"; a six-course meal that kicked off at 11 and was only halfway finished by 3.
Also in attendance was former WHAM member Andrew Ridgeley, who sadly said goodbye to his long hair many years ago. Still, with all the testosterone in the room the 80s artist's baldness was hardly out of place.
It wouldn't be a fundraising breakfast/lunch/dinner without an auction. Things were heated right from the first lot – four tickets to watch the England v Scotland match at Twickenham next month and a lunch with England legends Dallaglio and Jason Leonard.
One guest from Standard Chartered summed up the courage to bid £3,500, but was beaten to it in the end by former Quorn chairman Clive Sharp.
Rugby banter aside, the day was a success for Dallaglio's charity, which helps young kids get back on the rails and into education. The breakfast, lunch, dinner and auction raised £100,000 for the foundation.
