Cineworld expects World Cup drag
Cineworld Group, the UK’s largest cinema operator, said it expects the football World Cup this summer to have a “negative impact” on admissions to its cinemas.
Cineworld reported a 34 per cent jump in revenue for the 18 weeks to 1 May, as more people visited its cinemas and paid more for their tickets. Shares in Cineworld closed up three per cent at 352.75p.
