Christmas week to kick off with crunch Rangers FC meeting – London week ahead
WITHOUT any major company results reporting before Christmas, market attention could turn to the annual meeting of the crisis-hit Rangers International Football Club, part-owned by Sports Direct boss Mike Ashley. The team’s manager, legendary goal-scorer Ally McCoist, officially stood down last night.
The Aim-listed company will vote on whether to inject £8m in funding to keep running in 2015. Ashley gave the beleaguered club £2m in October and shareholders are demanding to be given a chance to vent their frustrations with financial management. It will be the first for chief executive Derek Llambias, who replaced ousted Graham Wallace.
Other companies to gather for AGMs today include Kolar Gold, Leaf Clean Energy, SimiGon, and Sylvania Platinum. Tuesday will have AGMs for Craven House Capital, Inspirit Energy Holdings, Minco, Red Rock Resources, Regency Mines.
Meanwhile economic data will comprise of UK balance of payments, current account data, and BBA mortgage lending figures.
