Champions League final ticket prices: Uefa charges fans as much as £340 and gives 25,500 tickets away to partners
European football's governing body Uefa has increased ticket prices to this year's Champions League final by as much as 14 per cent, with fans being charged up to €440 (£343) for a single ticket.
And even those who can afford to meet the cost of entry may miss out as 36 per cent of tickets are to be given away to corporate partners, sponsors and representatives from Uefa and its member associations.
Each club that reaches the final, to be played on Saturday 28 May at the 71,500 capacity San Siro in Milan, will receive 20,000 tickets to distribute to their fans, while 6,000 have gone on general sale.
The remaining 25,500 tickets – more than one third of seats in the stadium – are to be allocated to "the local organising committee, Uefa and national associations, commercial partners and broadcasters, and to serve the corporate hospitality programme," Uefa said.
Tickets in the most expensive category increased by 13 per cent from €390 to €440 and account for 30 per cent of all tickets on sale, while the next category down, accounting for 26 per cent of seats, increased by 14 per cent from €280 to €320.
Uefa kept prices in the remaining two categories, together making up 37 per cent of seats, frozen at €160 and €70.
"As in previous years, Uefa consulted the independent Football Supporters Europe network when setting ticket prices for this year's final", the governing body added.
