Champions League: Ancelotti fearful of sack as Juve dispatch holders

REAL Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti acknowledged that his job is on the line after the reigning kings of Europe crashed out of the Champions League at the hands of Juventus last night.
Juventus reached their first Champions League final since 2003 as former Real forward Alvaro Morata returned to haunt the Santiago Bernabeu by cancelling out Cristiano Ronaldo’s opener from the penalty spot.
Questions are likely to be raised about the future of Ancelotti, who managed the Old Lady between 1999-2001, as Real trail Barcelona by four points in the La Liga title race with two games remaining and face ending the season with just the Fifa Club World Cup.
“I don’t know if I will be here next season. We have 15 days left and two games, after that we’ll speak with the club,” said Ancelotti.”
Ex-Spurs midfielder Gareth Bale had seven efforts at goal, including a late header which could have sent the tie into extra-time, and was booed by Real fans, although Ancelotti was content with his performance.
“I thought Gareth Bale played better, he worked hard as did the team,” he added.
The result ends the prospect of a first ever El Clasico final after Barcelona beat Bayern Munich.
Juventus’s success paves the way for Barcelona striker Luis Suarez to face defender Giorgio Chiellini for the first time since biting the Italian at last year’s World Cup, as well as Patrice Evra, a player he was found guilty of racially abusing in 2011.
