Cargo ship aground in the Solent
THE CAR transporter ship The Hoegh Osaka has ran aground on a sand bank near Cowes, in the Solent. The 180m (590ft) vessel, which was leaving Southampton en route to Germany, ran aground on Bramble Bank on Saturday night. All 25 crew members were rescued and plans for the salvage of the ship, now listing 45 degrees, are underway.
