Careers advice at first sight as the London Stock Exchange hosts Treasury speed mentoring event
It might not be well-known for its matchmaking skills, but the Treasury is having a go at revamping a certain dating industry staple.
As part of its Women in Finance Charter, the government department, along with Women Ahead, will today be running a speed mentoring event.
Here, 40 financial sector leaders will impart their wisdom to 40 women at the beginning of their careers in the male-dominated sector.
The event will be hosted at London Stock Exchange and will be opened by London Stock Exchange Group chief executive Xavier Rolet, while mentors to meet include representatives from MasterCard, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and HSBC UK.
"Today proves these firms are not just paying lip service to the Women in Finance Charter but are living its values and actively working to help the next generation to climb the ranks," said Simon Kirby, economic secretary to the Treasury.
