British universities move up rankings
BRITAIN is now home to six of the world’s top-20 universities, according to the latest league table from QS.
Cambridge is the highest-ranked UK institution in third place, though it has fallen from second place a year ago, while the University of Edinburgh and King’s College London have joined the top 20 in 17th and 19th place respectively.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology keeps its place at the top of the global table.
By subject, the London School of Economics is third-best in the world for economics and second-best for accounting and finance, while Cambridge takes second place for law. Both are beaten by Harvard.
