Brexit bustle: European business chiefs call for the UK to vote to stay in the EU ahead of referendum
Business leaders from across Europe have called for UK citizens to vote to remain in the Union.
BusinessEurope issued a statement from its annual summit today saying its members “firmly wish” to see the UK stay an “active and positive” EU member.
“The UK has played a crucial role over the past forty years in shaping the development of Europe with trade and the single market at its core,” the group said in a statement.
“A vote to leave the EU will only heighten the uncertainty around current and future investments as some tough negotiations will then begin.”

The call is the latest in a flood of warnings over the risks of Brexit.
Earlier today the Organisation for Economic Development and Co-operation (OECD) warned that a vote to leave the European Union would set off a chain reaction of market turmoil across the global economy.
The European business leaders' opinions were echoed by UK chiefs.
