Bradford Bulls beg fans for £1m
HARD-UP rugby league outfit Bradford Bulls have warned the club will go out of business unless they raise £1m – and have asked fans to chip in.
The four-time Super League champions want supporters to pledge £100 each, and say they need £500,000 by the middle of next month to reduce their debts.
Chairman Peter Hood said: “If we haven’t got cash then we can’t stay alive and can’t fulfil our fixtures. It’s that serious.”
Chief executive Ryan Duckett said the desperate measures had been brought about by Royal Bank of Scotland changing the club’s loan terms. He added: “It’s not an exaggeration to say this is a crisis. If we’re not successful there might not be a Bradford Bulls any more.”
