Bovis enjoys robust trading
Homebuilder Bovis Homes yesterday reported robust trading during the first half of the year and said housing market conditions in the UK remained stable. The Kent-based group completed 944 homes in the six months to 30 June compared with 801 homes a year ago. Average sales price during the period increased one per cent to £164,400 while net private reservations rose 24 per cent to 993. Nevertheless, Bovis said reservations had slowed due to the quieter summer trading period, particularly around the time of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The firm added that homebuyers were taking longer to make their purchase decision and continued to face a challenging mortgage process amid tough economic conditions.
