Bosingwa out for three months after knee op
PREMIER League leaders Chelsea have been dealt a hammer blow with the news that Jose Bosingwa could be out for up to three months after undergoing knee surgery.
The Portuguese international, who signed in a £16.3m deal from Porto in May 2008, has been out since mid-October with the problem and may have to wait until February to return.
It is the second injury to a full-back at Stamford Bridge in as many weeks after left-sided Ashley Cole fractured his tibia last week – although Chelsea confirmed the England man does not require surgery.
A statement read: “Jose Bosingwa underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee this week. His recovery time will be approximately three months.
“Ashley Cole is suffering from an aggravation of a depressed fracture of the tibia, originally picked up against Atletico Madrid at Stamford Bridge. The injury will not require surgery.”
