BILL OF THE WEEK
THINGS are clearly looking up for the business world, as this group of City gentlemen demonstrated last week with a luxurious private lunch at the top of the iconic Gherkin.
Our diners opted for the eight-course tasting menu to sample the finest cuisine that Searcys had to offer, accompanying it with a comprehensive selection of fine wines.
Their £6,165.51 bill – which didn’t include a £520 private room charge – featured a Chateau d’Yquem 1955 for £1,200 and a Chateau Haut Brion 1er Grand Cru for £995, as well as bottles of Prieur-Rodet Montrachet, Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1er Grand Cru and a 1997 Ornelaia.
