BILL OF THE WEEK
OVER to French-Asian restaurant L’Etranger on Gloucester Road this week, where this large group of raucous City boys and girls certainly had something to celebrate.
Our happy patrons dined off the £48 set menu, munching on everything from crispy squid with chilli and spring onion to caramelised black cod with miso, shoulder of lamb and Charolais fillet steak with hanna kizami mash, whatever that may be.
They certainly didn’t stint on the wines, either – choosing a couple of bottles of Sancerre Pascal Jolivet 2008 and some other unidentified delicacies before buying a £3,200 jeroboam of La Tâche Grand Cru Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1983, pushing the overall bill up to an eye-popping £6,772.95. Phew.
