Berbatov strike stretches United’s lead to five points
MANCHESTER UNITED staged an astonishing second-half recovery to record a 3-2 win at Blackpool and open up a five-point gap over Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.
The leaders looked set to surrender their unbeaten record when they trailed at the break to goals from former United defender Craig Cathcart and DJ Campbell.
United were still trailing by two goals with 18 minutes left, but Berbatov halved the deficit and parity was restored when substitute Javier Herandez, who replaced an out of sorts Wayne Rooney, struck two minutes later.
And Bulgarian Berbatov completed a stunning rescue act by pouncing for the winner in the 88th minute.
Elsewhere, Aston Villa moved six points clear of the relegation zone with a 2-1 win at Wigan.
