Balfour lands Heathrow deal
INFRASTRUCTURE firm Balfour Beatty yesterday said it had secured a £180m contract with Heathrow Airport.
Over the next three years, the FTSE 250-listed company will maintain and upgrade Terminals 1, 2 and 4 at the West London airport.
The agreement is the first of four new-style framework contracts to be awarded by Heathrow, as part of a £1.5bn investment package.
Balfour Beatty has undertaken on a number of previous contracts with Heathrow over the past 15 years and is currently working on part of the Terminal 2 complex, due to open this summer.
Shares closed up 5.5p at 237p.
