Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed the magic number of points that he believes will be enough to secure the club a first Premier League title since 2004.
With three teams – Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool – locked at the top of the table on 20 points after nine games, Wenger has predicted that the champions will finish on 82-86 points.
"The first trend is set: three teams on 20 points. The championship will be decided by 82-86 points," he told Arsenal's AGM on Monday.
"Every game is a fight. That means we have to be really focused on details. We have an important month in front of us – the end of October and November could be important moment for us – and the fact that we get our injuries back and everyone on board will play a part."
Arsenal were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Middlesbrough on Saturday but City failed to take advantage 24 hours later as they drew 1-1 with Southampton.
The Gunners face Reading next in an EFL Cup tie on Tuesday evening. A difficult run of fixtures next month includes games against Tottenham, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
