Barclays Corporate
Ian Gilmartin has been promoted to Barclays Corporate’s retail and wholesale team as corporate director. He was formerly head of marketing services in the tech and media sector. In his new job, he will be working with Richard Lowe, head of the retail division, and will be adding to his 16 years’ experience in corporate banking and capital markets. He has previously worked at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and Allied Irish Banks.
HSBC
Alan Keir has been appointed global head of the bank’s commercial banking business. The job is a promotion from his previous role as head of European commercial banking. He will now join the HSBC Group’s management board as a managing director. He will report to Sandy Flockhart.
Keir’s appointment comes on the back of his 19 years’ experience in commercial banking. He began his career with HSBC in 1981 on its graduate training programme and has worked at the bank ever since, including stints as a manager covering Asia. He moved to work at HSBC’s global head quarters in Canary Wharf in 2003.
Bank of Ireland
The bank has expanded its specialist deposits services team with the appointment of Sorcha Mulligan as a relationship director.
In her new role, she will be reporting to Benny Cribben, and will be responsible for serving new and existing customers in London and the south. Mulligan has formerly spent nine years working at Allied Irish Bank.
Northpoint Printing
The financial and confidential document printer has appointed Kathryn Delevingne as its business development manager. She has previous experience in a similar role at Kantar World Panel, a market research firm, and has also worked for Thesis Asset Management.
Petropavlovsk
The Russian gold miner and FTSE 250 firm has appointed Alya Samokhvalova as a new strategic director. She will have a seat on the board and will chair a new committee in charge of big-picture budget analysis and forecasts. Samokhvalova is the company’s first female executive director.
