Employment to rise further
THE EMPLOYMENT boom in the UK is set to continue through the rest of 2012, according to data out this morning.
Employment will grow steadily through the rest of the year, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) said, based on a survey of employers.
Overall, employment intentions improved to plus seven in the third quarter looking forward, where zero would indicate on balance flat intentions, the CIPD data showed.
This overall positive picture came from a much-reduced, but still highly positive, plus 18 in the private sector, down from plus 28 in the second quarter, compared to a much-improved, but still highly negative minus 17, up from minus 36, in the public sector.
