TODAY marks the start of the horsey-betting-booze fest that is Cheltenham. One City figure who is unlikely to miss a day is former Barclays executive Rich Ricci who has got no fewer than six horses running this week. Noticeably absent from the line-up is Fatcatinthehat, the controversially-named bay gelding the banker entered into the festival last year. The limelight this time is on Annie Power, the horse aptly described by the bookies as one of the main “bankers” of the festival. If you fancy a flutter on one of Ricci’s runners today, Champagne Fever is being tipped as a popular choice (we think it’s all in the name).
