McLaren profits accelerate as supercar deliveries worldwide increase
Sales at McLaren Automotive are clearly speeding forward: figures published this morning showed pre-tax profits accelerated 233 per cent to £15m in the year to the end of December – up from £4m during the same period in 2013.
Profit after tax on a constant currency basis was also up to £8.5m – a 331 per cent increase from the year before.
The firm, which only started producing luxury supercars in the UK less than four year ago, said revenue rose to £475.5m, a 67 per cent rise from £285.4m reported in 2013.
Underlying these positive numbers was an increase in deliveries to customers worldwide, which were up 18 per cent, to 1, 649 cars.
Chief executive Mike Flewitt said: “We are delighted with these record results which proves our ability to deliver luxury sports cars at the very highest level.
"These results highlight that McLaren Automotive continues to push boundaries and will continue to do so in 2015 – adding to the range of groundbreaking models, which in turn will help deliver another strong set of results for McLaren.”
