Group of six London pubs sold to the Laine Pub Company for around £4m

Six London pubs, including The Camden Eye and The Black Lion, Hammersmith, have been acquired by the Laine Pub Company from the New Pub Company.

City A.M. understands that the portfolio was sold for close to £4m.

Gavin George, chief executive of Laine Pub Company said: “The New Pub Company estate is operated by six exceptional management teams who we are very pleased to welcome into Laine’s London business.

“We will use Laine’s support structure to help them develop their business further but hope also to learn much from them.”

The new pubs will be adding to the Laine Pub Company’s current portfolio of 12 London pubs. Most recently, the group opened The Honour Oak in Forest Hill.

The New Pub Company had also hoped to sell Putney pub The Telegraph with the other pubs, but as it was more focused on food, Laine Pub Company did not feel it fitted in with the rest of its pub portfolio. The New Pub Company now intends to establish a new group of pubs with the same atmosphere as The Telegraph.
