<strong>Saxo Bank</strong><br />The bank has officially appointed Tom Hougaard as a market commentator for its financial spreads division.<br /><br />Hougaard, who also regularly hosts educational market trading seminars throughout the UK, previously worked as chief market strategist for City Index for eight years.<br /><br />He will be based in Saxo Bank&rsquo;s London office and will provide twice-daily market commentary notes.<br /><br /><strong>Jefferies</strong><br />The investment banking group has appointed Thomas O&rsquo;Leary as a managing director and head of international equity sales.<br /><br />O&rsquo;Leary, who will be based in the firm&rsquo;s New York office, will work closely with London-based Andrew Shortland, head of international equities.<br /><br />He previously worked as a managing director and head of international equities for the US at JP Morgan, and was a member of the bank&rsquo;s global cash equity management team and global client council. He also spent 14 years at Bear Stearns, latterly as co-head of global equities sales.<br /><br /><strong>Hermes BPK Partners</strong><br />The fund of hedge fund investment partnership has hired Pierluigi Ricchiuti as a senior analyst of credit strategies.<br /><br />Ricchiuti joins from Banca Intesa, where he was head of credit trading and first vice president, responsible for the North American credit derivatives desk, having previously been a credit derivatives trader. He also previously worked as a portfolio manager for RAS Asset Management.<br /><br /><strong>Execution</strong><br />Nishad Vallonthaiel has joined the agency broker as a member of its portfolio and electronic trading team, focusing on pan-European sales.<br /><br />Vallonthaiel, a Swiss national who speaks six languages, joins from Bloomberg Tradebook, having also previously worked in Switzerland for CIM Banque and <br />Banca Commerciale Lugano in portfolio management. He will report to Tony Nash, head of portfolio and electronic trading.<br /><br /><strong>Marriott Harrison</strong><br />The corporate and media specialist law firm has appointed Alexandra Denison as a new corporate partner.<br /><br />Denison joins from rival Berwin Leighton Paisner, where she was a partner. She has acted for a large number of corporate groups and has an emphasis on private company acquisitions, disposals and international joint ventures, with particular expertise in the hotel and leisure industries.<br /><br /><strong>Davenport Lyons</strong><br />The business law firm has appointed Andrew Li to its property team as a partner.<br />Li joins from rival Eversheds. His key clients are in the healthcare, energy, investment and development sectors, with particular expertise in major commercial and mixed-use schemes, acting for developers and funders, and in acquisitions and disposals.<br />
