Close Brothers Asset Management

Nicholas Cliffe has been appointed investment director at the investment management firm. He joins from HSBC Global Asset Management, where he spent five years as a discretionary wealth manager.


The law firm has appointed Shaun Lascelles as a partner in its global private equity team. He joins from the London office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he was formerly co-head of its global private equity practice. Lascelles joined Skadden in 2002 and became a partner in 2007.


The professional services firm has announced two appointments to its financial services risk and regulation team. Scott Samme joins from EY, where he was leader in its compliance IT advisory practice. In his new role, Samme will focus on leading the analytics financial crime and compliance team within PwC’s financial services advanced risk and compliance analytics (ARCA) practice. Tayyaba Arif joins from Accenture, where she led data management and governance at Accenture Digital. Within PwC’s ARCA practice, she will lead on data management and governance.

Rothschild Group

The financial advisory group has appointed Andrew Blair as head of UK sales. He was previously a regional sales director at Edinburgh Fund Managers, head of UK sales at Skandia Investment Group, and more recently joint head of sales and marketing at Mirabaud Asset Management.

Royal London Asset Management

The asset management firm has appointed John Burke as head of institutional. He joins from Newton Investment Management, where he was head of business development. Burke has also worked as a senior investment consultant, advising institutional pension funds on asset strategy and manager selection.

Investec Specialist Bank

Steven Ive has been appointed as an originator, focusing on asset based and cash flow lending, in the bank’s growth and acquisition finance team. He joins from GE Capital Bank, where he was a regional director. Ive has also held positions at Barclays, most recently as vice president of Barclays Trade and Working Capital.
